Project Description
This project expanded broadband services to thirty Range Telephone customers near Broadus, MT in Powder River and Carter counties. Initially, hydro excavation was used to locate any existing underground utilities. Using HDD technology, we installed fiber optic cable under highways, creeks, and county roads.
We used dozers and installed two 1-1/4" conduits four feet deep to allow for the installation of 144 fiber through the process of cable plowing. Hand holes were then installed to house the splice cases. Our crews then installed the 144 cables into the conduit and spliced the fiber. The site was reclaimed and seeded to restore vegetation two weeks ahead of schedule.
